The Setup
In late February/early March of 2020, wonderful human and skilled artisan Justin Sharp decided to make an effort to introduce two of his friends - Adam Wilkerson and Sarah Stricklin - knowing them both to be magnificent goofballs and being aware that each of them deserved a happiness that only someone else as weird could provide. We all know what happened in the middle of March in 2020.
So, cut to April of 2021. Justin is running a stand at a farmer's market, selling his fantastic t-shirts, and is anticipating dinner plans with Adam that evening.
Adam decides to drop by the market and say an early hello to Justin.
Sarah also decides to drop by the market for a quick hello to Justin.
Ten days and one 9-hour first date later, our plucky heroes are on their way to the day we're all about to celebrate.
getting there and Staying Here
Union Station Information
The Genesis II Event Space is located in the lower level of the Historic Union Station. When you search 1400 W. Markham on Google Maps, the image (below) shows the door you will need to enter through, under the awning that says "Union Station". There is decking out front and that entrance is to the right of the deck (as you look at the building).
There is a large parking lot right in front of the entrance and another on the upper level of the property.
Accommodations
We've secured room blocks at both the Four Points by Sheraton (a Marriott hotel - discounted rooms start at $109) and the Staybridge Suites (by IHG - discounted rooms start at $129). These are hotels that are an 8 minute drive to/from Union Station.
We're emailing everyone not based in Little Rock the booking links that will grant you access to the discounts, so keep an eye out for that! If you don't get an email and need the links, send me (Sarah) a note by clicking the email address at the bottom of the site.
Please click "view map" to see where those hotels are located and find links to their websites.
We will note that a quick review of Airbnb prices on the weekend in question returned options that are similarly priced to hotels in the area. Should you choose to go that route, we highly recommend the SOMA neighborhood, as it is deeply charming and highly walkable. We live in the Parkway Place neighborhood, out West. So, if you prefer to stay near our house, pick somewhere near there (though - be warned, prices rise out this way).
